Who I amI am a Wellington-New Zealand-based designer by trade: service designer / design strategist / information designer. I love all things design. I live it, breathe it, and am lucky enough to make a living at it. cromulence.com is a place for me to record my non-work designs (although some of those are in here). It's intended to celebrate when I get an idea, turn it into a concept and then create something visual to give to a friend or family member. Or check out my professional blog:

Ahhh, you’re reading them…and I don’t condone casual swearing. Plus, until it is a Q A'ed with F, then it is presumptuous on my part to label it F.

This site is just a record of the various design outputs I've created. I never keep them and I just want to record them for posterity. I sell decoration stuff at Thorndon Fair, but if I want to sell it online I'd go through Etsy. That's a wee way away though.

||
That is my catalogue/blog of things that inspire or interest me or are a work-in-progress, or are things that I haven't made per se, but want to record somewhere. My thinking about design as a professional is at desonance.

Well, it’s flattering that you A the Q. I think graphic design is a far more technical and visually creative realm than where I operate, as is product design. I dabble, but couldn't do it for a living.

It's from a Simpsons episode ' Lisa the Iconoclast' (one of the 6 good seasons they had).
It means to be legitimately dubious, plausible if illogical. And I hope the smallest soul is embiggened by the cromulent items on display at this website. (Oh, and someone already had 'cromulent.com')

Design that's plausible* With the exception of the For Real section, the creations on this site are whimsy, ephemera of meaning to the recipient and maker, but probably no-one else (and not always the recipient if I'm honest). The most common refrain I hear after gifting one of these items is "you're insane!" or damningly, "you're so clever/creative". So they're seemingly worthy of approval and apparently valid. i.e. plausible.

“You have to check out this great website called cromulence-dot-com.”

OK, how about, “while the shaken townsfolk embraced the triumphant stranger with cromulence, they never sought to espacuate him as their kin”
